  1. Last year, after a drunken chat with a mate I went to see our friends Bay that he was having to sell.
at first I couldn't see any potential or point, Then I went again to see it & it had me going,,, then on a 3rd look I bought it.
Originally I was gonna just go round the bad areas with filler, a quick paint then use it for a year & sell it on. That never happened. What did happen was a restoration by a Bloke (me) His wife, a neighbor & some friends. I estimated the original timescale for the body work @ 6 weeks,,, it took 4 months of graft. Also its our 1st project & up until May 2012 I'd never even done an oil change. anyways have a gander :)

  2. cool story matey! bus looks very tidy! sits perfectly! what set up do you have to have it sitting like that? funky blinds inside also, you got any shots on the inside?

    Well done that family! :D

  3. Cheers Bruce.
Its on RED9 coilovers on the front. The Rear is on Modded swing plates,,, again from red9. one of the moderators is going to tidy up my mess because
I kept multi posting whilst editing so this thread may vanish so the right thread is left on here. :)

Welcome aboard fella - love the colour scheme!

Looking at the green paint, I think your bus is ex Holland - Gusbus our '73 was also that colour originally & it was special order paint for the dutch market

  5. Cheers Mork. The Colour scheme is lifted from an album from Alkaline Trio :)

  6. ah ok! would you recommend the red 9 coilovers from there? are they still comfortable as well as low or is it jarry, please be honest lol ;) I have rear lowering stuff but want the front lowered first otherwise ill be looking at the sky lol

  7. Hello and welcome your bus has the same roof as mine and mine was also originally from holland

  8. Thanks, I know a little of its past,,, the best bit is that it was a chicken shed for 10 years. LOL

To be honest since I fitted the coilovers last week other than a quick run round the block Ive not drove the van anywhere yet because I need the rear end notching a tiny bit.
But from what I've read they do feel a bit harder but the handling is better, I did find that too on the run.
I have the 6" drop fitted on the van. I bought the 4" drop from ebay 2 weeks ago & once I fitted them I wanted to go lower,,, so, much to the disproval of the mrs & my wallet I bought the new coilovers & swing plates. If you do decide you want to fit coilovers give me a shout as i still have the 4" kit.

  10. oooh really? how much are you after for those mate? is yours wound down all the way on the 6 inch drop? did you have to buy new shock absorbers too to drop that low?

  11. Cheers dude. Yours looks awesome too.
