After a near 15 year slumber my 72 Bay van finally passed it's M.O.T yesterday!! It needed in the end, new fuel lines, new brake lines, new callipers, new wheel cylinders, new master cylinder, oil change, carb tune up, new tyres, and a tiny bit of welding to the passenger seat belt anchorage. So I took the plunge and drove up to see Scott at SJH Joinery in Derbyshire today.............. came home having ordered £2800 with of new woodwork due for collection end of April / first week in May. Have ordered SJH's full classic interior in oak, with wardrobe and top locker, table with tripod foot, and a removable buddy seat incorporating a slide out porta poti. The van will be back with me in the week and the work will start on getting the interior ready to accept the new wood work and trimmings. ( and take more photo's ) We have purchased a new set of oil preg fibreboard door cars and the wife is going to be doing the trimming - she's pretty handy with a industrial sewing machine Just have to decide on the colour scheme and materials. I shall also have a complete Devon interior to sell once I've removed and cleaned it up, if there is anyone in the market for the original kit. Spec wise I'm installing a Smev 8322, Waeco CR50 fridge , full 240v system, leisure battery, with split charger. TBD on yet is the heating, lighting and ICE. Properly excited to be under way!
you'll love Scotts workmanship, the interior will look brilliant! Scott's a mate of ours, his workshop is about ten minutes away from us, which reminds me I want to pop down & see him
