The Grey

  1. possibly the worst film ive ever seen .. the first 10 mins is amazing and then it nose dives( no pun intended) into a boring pile of the brown stuff.. save yourself an hour and a half of your life

  2. It's watchable but not great

What sort of films do you like?

  3. oh that bad then?

A lot raved about the norweigan troll film and that dissapointed me

  4. Im not a massive film type of guy id rather be out there doing it

However i seem to have film time on my hands i never had before im normally a documentry type of guy

  5. oh yea .. i know the one .. berwolf or something.. yea thats pants aswell ... the airplane crash is the best bit in the grey . it really is quite droll after that...

  6. i tend to use IMDB and see what the reviews are .. if its above 6.3 its usually quite good .. 7-8 are decent films .. rare that above 8 , only the classics

(lol it actually says the grey is a 7, but its crap) ... have you seen Taken ?

  7. My wife has a love film account so if i watch a dvd its normally from there

I may give it a miss and head out with the bivvy bag and tarp for a night instead

The worst thing ive ever come across in the uk wilds is drunken chavs lol

  8. in this weather ? youre mad .... ive not gone wild camping myself as its gonna bucket down..

taken & unknown are on there .. both good films with neeson in

  9. Any fool can be uncomfortable dude

Come wild camping with me some time and i swear you will hanker for more

When you learn the skills to live with whats around you it takes you to another level

Then again if anyone sees you gathering bracken to stuff inside your bivvy bag they will think your a right nutter lol

  10. will glady join you for a night in the hills mate ... ive just bought a thermarest neo air xlite & a new kip bag was supposed to go out for a "kit test jolly" but the glorious weathers kaiboshed that.. you can stuff all the braken in your bivvi bag thats fine with me ;) ...

  11. i watch a lot of films so like to think i am a good judge of whether a film is good or not.

this film is ok - it is in no way amazing - but there are some thought provoking moments and on the whole i enjoyed it.

all depends what you want to get out of it i guess - it's not a bad film ...

  12. sorry my review of it was a bit scathing in fairness.. i was just disappointed in it as i expected a lot more from neeson i think .. i watch quite a lot of movies myself but that didn't do it for me...

  13. I watched 'safe house' the other night with Denzel Washington. Good all round action movie that ticks all the boxes.

It's about a rogue CIA agent that for one reason or another ends up at a safe house that gets attacked and the film follows Washington and the safe house boss (Ryan Renolds) as the escape the attackers and work out what is really going on.

Obligatory car chases with plenty of crashes, gun fights, hand to hand battles, blood and the all important twist at the end.

Overall I thought it was a really good film and give it a 8/10

  14. I watched 'Anonymous' tonight. I'll sleep on it and assimilate my thoughts and report back. A good film though.

I've seen The Grey. I thought it was quite a good film. The story behind it is thought provoking. I'm not into all action film and prefer a "thinker" this was a bit of both.

I enjoyed it also. Not Neesons best, but he played his part excellent as ever!
    Roll on 'Taken 2'
If its anything like the 1st, it will be film of the year for me!

  17. Safe house is an outstanding movie!

  18. I don't rate Liam Neeson much. Bit of a one trick pony, seems to be exactly the same in all his movies. Lots of action heroes out there who can also act (ie Bruce Willis in Sixth sense). Taken was competent but completely predictable.

    cheers
