The Dukes Funeral

  1. Whether you are pro or anti Royal, and I fully accept that there are those of both persuasions, and everyone is very entitled to their own views, so please don’t turn this thread into a Royal bashing exercise, there is no denying that this country puts on a splendid show of pomp & ceremony.

It was downhill so they freewheeled.

  5. We watched it, once a sailor always a sailor. Pleased to see there were one or two bits that clearly had his own stamp on it.

I’m working but I watched little bits. The music was fantastic. There’ll be a good spread at the wake no doubt.

Not watched it yet but the music of the queen mothers funeral was outstanding . I remember the bagpipes in particular. Stunning

To be honest, I was disgusted to see a nasty polluting, diesel Landy idling away for about an hour. I for one, will be writing a stern letter to the Guardian immediately.

  14. I’m not convinced it was a real Land Rover. As every one I follow is dropping clumps of mud all over the road.

    and it appeared to start.

Didn't need one as there were about 3,000 soldiers on hand to give it a push if it broke down.

In any case, the Queen would have been first under the bonnet to fix it with her mechanical knowledge gained in the war!

I was out where his heart was, not his body.
I thought it was a more fitting tribute.
I did hear it on the radio, though.

I only saw a bit on the news. I do like Nimrod. I’m pleased he designed his own vehicle and I felt very sorry for the queen being sat alone :(

I might spray the van black, and put a nice bit of varnished decking in the back...
