The bloody inlaws have been at it again...

  1. Looks like i could possibly be coming to spring camp on my lonesome now.:(

The inlaws were all set to look after our doggies for the weekend, but after months of them knowing about it (and it being written on their calendar in big red fricking letters) they decided they were going to go away on the sunday for a few days to visit family so couldn't look after them anymore. Cheers.

Not too much of a problem really as we could just bring our two with us and they'd take their two down south with them and could stay at her gran's house. Got a call this morning to say that they've now decided they are gonna book a B&B instead, and guess what, they don't accept dogs.

So after a chat with her mum, Fran has decided to stay at theirs for the weekend so she can look after their dogs on the sunday.:(

Same sort of thing happened last year. We got offered free flights to Kuala Lumpur to visit Fran's brother for a few weeks, only for her mum to talk her out of going due to the fact i'd be a long time to have to look after our dogs and they'd miss us and sulk.
After talking to her brother and turing his kind offer a couple of days later we get a call from her mum saying 'we're off to Kuala Lumper' for 3 weeks and we're leaving our dogs with you. Thanks.

    Can you divorce your inlaws?

  7. I know your pain, in laws can make life really awkward, just remember what goes round comes round!!

What's the difference between in laws and outlaws??

  8. They sound like a pain in the a*$e. Still - at least you're still able to go to spring camp ...

  9. A kennel perhaps?? ;)

  10. for the inlaws ?

  11. I'd be sooo *******ed off with the Kuala Lumpur thing..that's absolutely put of order... I'd go mad...sneaky things... They sound extremely selfish... Why can't their dogs go in kennels its only a few nights? Weird....

  12. Yup sounds selfish to me. It's alright for them but not for you. I'd bring your 2 with you and get them to put theirs in Kennels explaining that they have knew about it for months.

  13. I'm used to them doing stuff like that all the time. Their dogs are both rescues so they won't put them back in kennels even for a day.

It was Frans 40th a few weeks ago. I was gonna have a go at baking her a cake but her mum said she'd do one instead. We turn up at their house and no cake. The excuse, she was too busy....knitting a funking jumper for herself.
Apparently she had never had a birthday cake made for her until we got married in 1999 and my mum started making them.

The thing that really *******es Fran off is her parents will quite happily drop everything and travel down to south wales (300 mile trip from here) if her daughter inlaw ever needs anything, but rarely ever even pop in for a coffee as she passes the door every morning. Her dad hasn't even been here in 6 months or so and we're only 3 miles away.

At least when they die we get their house (i'm trying to look at the bright side of everything).:D

Bad luck mate. I had crap inlaws until the ex left. Hasn't really made any difference though as we rarely saw them anyway.

Their favourite trick was when we'd ask them round for Sunday lunch. They'd say no, then pop round anyway unannounced and sit there with their coats on as if they were just going to stay a minute, but then sit there all afternoon while we cooked and ate lunch, still refusing to eat! We even set them a place the first time and served them a plateful up which they refused, but still stayed sat on the sofa with their coats on. Wierdo's or what!

They never looked after our snappers once though neither worked and they lived 2 miles away.
Ex used to complain they never contacted her so I said stop calling them and see how long it is. After 3 years she weakened and called them.

IMHO I think you should refuse to ever look after their dogs and if they get the huff, stuff them. But do it like they do. Say yes, then at the last minute say you can't because you're going camping and it wouldn't be fair to cram all the dogs in one camper for the weekend.

Your in-laws sound like they're very controlling and possibly belittling of their daughter? Time to break the chains perhaps.

  15. I have had a few in-laws good and bad ...

My advise when someone lets you down once , then never relay on them again who ever they are....

  16. Yep they sound well suspect. I would just tell them 2 days before they go to KL you can't take the dogs as the house is being fumigated from the last time the dogs infested the house with ticks/fleas/lice take your pic.

Revenge is a dish best served cold.

If they leave you hanging at the last minute just do it back, just do it a bit meaner.

If it was a one of I would take it on the chin but if it is a regular thing defo take sweet revenge.

  17. sounds like they need a short sharp shock ...:)
