PVA exterior wood glue.
I believe you can buy type of glue that sets of in 15 mins

I use this for most applications for sealing panels/skylight and windows
Don't be tight with it it will clean off easily with white spirit on a rag,
The good thing about it is it will stay reasonably pliable
If you need to disassemble or replace anything
If you use a sikaflex type thing that's ok
But it's more expensive and it really sticks making it difficult to open a joint
Without tearing the aluminium .
If you use silicone sealant on the aluminium to wood joints and it fails
It has the effect of a diaphragm pump
And the water will p155 in
