Anyone fixed it to their roof (under the headliner wood) with spray glue or will the glue melt/react with it? Ta.

It's not affected by the glue at all. I guess you'll need a high temp one in the roof though so it doesn't melt in our glorious summer an peel off.
I used 3M spray stuff on my side panels no probs.

  3. stuck mine inside the roof all round with screwfix no nonsense spray glue

    :hippy: :hippy:

cheers guys, doubt our sun will worry it! besides the wood itself will hold it up i guess, just didn't wanna ruin a roll, it isn't cheap.

  5. compare the prices in B and Q with screwfix i know its the same company but the prices vary

i got it from wikes £13.85 a roll not very big i think it's 600mm wide by about 8 metres long

  9. I just put some in mine on the slider and behind the sink used metal speed tape and evostick spray.

  11. Just done everywhere in my van and then doubled up over the top of that..

Used the silver foil wrap with the bubble wrap inside from BnQ,

spray glue on side walls used regular stikatac and high temp trimfix for the roof,
you'll be amazed how hot it gets inside a van and once it sags you can't re-stick it if it's behind the headliner..

Used 4 rolls in total, but did also make some thermo window blinds for all windows as we didn't have any curtains made for Deva..

  12. I used foam underlay as it was similar to the original stuff in my tintop, first fixed it up with no nonsesne screwfix adhesive, but it fell down, so re fixed it with hi temp stuff off ebay much more expensive but if it holds it up well worth it.

in the westy above the cab is a wood headliner which is then covered in your usual white headlining cloth, i basically removed all that and had a new wood liner cut which will be airbrushed or vinyl wrapped under the wood was the old fluffy type of insulation which i removed, the silver stuff won't fall as the wood holds it up.

no, the white headliner was affixed to the wood, that fell down and used to tickle the "skin coloured hair" on the top of my head........ that's how the removal started!

I've been taking vans apart for the last 5 years that have had "this sort of thing" done, trapping the moisture. Good luck chaps, but when you want it de-rusting, factor in removing all the sticky rust causing crap.

The funny thing is, while I was vanless and camping in a tent I've never been warmer. lol. One single skin of canvas...

I really wouldn't bother at all.

  17. Do you mean like this, Rick?

I just used a bit of the silver foil tape here and there - it's not going to fall down, because of the wooden headlining, and it won't be difficult to remove if I need to in the future.
