I was searching on here for some hints and tips for refitting my Type 4 engine, and I came across one which said to remove the gearbox mounting bolts and lower it down to a bit of an angle (after disconnecting the gear shift linkage) so I thought I'd give it a go, as I've never done it in the years of putting engines in. It worked like a dream! To the point I managed to get the engine in on my own before my mate had turned up to help. Thanks! Gerry
