I think I must have got lucky on ebay recently.. sold both my Bugs at auction, both winners turned up and payed on time. Fees are a bit of a rip off, but then, 7 days to sell a car is probably worth it. Then I bought a single cab, without going to look at it, based a very short description and a couple of pics, from a user with hardly any feedback as a seller... luckily, I would say its actually worth more than I paid for it.... Am I helping? I would list it as a classified, priced at what you want for it. That tends to weed it down to serious buyers. And wash and polish it. Barn find nonsense is all well and good, but most folk cant see past the paint...
First priority for a lot folk is to call it "Poppy" and make a nice set of curtains and VW cushions for it. They don't notice it's got six inches of endfloat, and the chassis is about to fall off...
'Barn find' is a convenient term for people looking to sell things they don't own, that the actual owners have either forgotten about or died. Just because a vehicle check comes back as not stolen, doesn't mean its a legitimate sale.
This is my add title - I've helpfully highlighted the terms I've used dealing with the words 'Barn Find' VW Golf Mk2 16v 3dr, Small Bumper, not Barn Find, Garaged for 20 years Not sure what else to add.
Its the modern way.. Just cancel things by text or email at the last minute my mate who has a driving school gets pupils cancelling every day.. Its all too easy..
Actually letting me know they’d changed their mind would have been good, just a no show after he’d supposedly set off with one I had. Thankfully tonight someone turned up when they said they would and bought the bike.
