There was one in london once many years ago on a trading estate. not my cup of tea, but if you have somewhere to hold it, go for it.
in all fairness i do think it used to be a more southerly place? one of the old hands will confirm, but certainly since i've been "organising" (for organising read posting on forums and talking to eddy and jackie about dates plus occasionally collecting the odd bit of cash or tidying up a bit afer we leave.... it really runs itself) being in the midlands is a coincidence and nothing to do with me, eddy himself could not be more obliging as anyone who's come will verify, he's vw mad, he lets us do most anything and i doubt another site would have the facilities or allow the removal of engines etc..... if it ever moved you'd struggle to find a better place, that said nobody "owns" techenders and any of you northern/southern lot could do one and i'd imagine you might get some of us "midlands" ones to pop along.
This is important. Techenders is an idea with vague format of camping specifically to tinker with vans.
possibly due to the fact a core of us have pretty much done all the maintenance required and newbies come for a look but don't do loads? i dunno? agreed, i learnt valuable info by coming and even without a bay or without jobs to do will always pop along.
It looks pretty central to me - 130 miles south from me near Southport - it is on my wish list of trips for next year.
This one is in the Sarff Bazzer, You should come so i can bring you some of that sh!te northern beer as you called it
We did have a spy from that Yorkshire place one year with the intention of doing a northern one, Field of Dreams is the VW show they run. Not sure if a TE thing got started
I went to field of dreams a few years back just for the day £11 to get in and a load of tat on stalls. Nothing like the TE I went to the same year.
