If you were proper Northern it would be funnier :)

  2. That's it then, I'm 100% non northern! I just don't like him as a stand-up, though I liked Phoenix Nights and I've read his autobiography which is very funny.

I lived in prestwitch until I was 6, there's a lot of woodland etc that you would have no idea was there, on the motorway junction (16 off the m62/60) where the big tesco is was a huge mental hospital, we used to cycle through the grounds and down to the river and woods out back, it had all the facilities you would ever want football pitche tennis, lawn bowls etc, all the patients (apart from the really dangerous ones) used to wave and talk to us as we cycled through , then they put the big tesco on half of the grounds and released the other half of the patients as care in the community, as it was next to the motorway with a long footbridge over it and a hand rail to waist heigh they would jump off pretty regularly , then they put a cage over the foot way, so they climbed on top of it, not sure whether the number of people jumping deminished or the bridge cover worked, either way even then I thought care in the community wasn't the greatest idea for some folks :(

    Would be strange indeed,

    I'm 40 and 6 weeks 2 days :)

Where you lived was on the edge of the biggest Jewish community in the country , just the other side of the lights where heaton park finished, used to do lush bagels down at the bakery, not American ones but proper ones, we used to cycle further along to broughton swimming baths cos it was 15p , then we heard about Bolton baths slides and everything :) can't remember what it used to be called!!
