l thought at first l was reading rubbish but it turns out to be oh so very true. So l went looking on the Google and found my video is the second hit in the list http://www.google.co.uk/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=Tamiya+Sand+Rover&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&redir_esc=&ei=dLmhT-2JPKX04QS8lKyhCQ After the launch of the Holiday Fuggly (a horrid hash up of the original 1981 classic Tamiya have launched the VW buggy based Sand Rover. Much better than the original with its enclosed gearbox. http://www.modelsport.co.uk/tamiya-sand-rover-2011-dt-02-/rc-car-products/365845 Or the better looking 'Street Rover' Those wheels do make a difference. http://www.modelsport.co.uk/tamiya-street-rover-dt-02-/rc-car-products/367614 Tamiya have launched a 21 window Samba Deluxe on the Wild Willy 2 chassis. Knowing the Willy 2 as l do, your shell won't stay concours for long but is mighty fun to play with. http://www.modelsport.co.uk/tamiya-vw-camper-wheelie-wr-02-no-esc-/rc-car-products/367654 The reissued Fast Attack Vehicle. With this out there will probably be a reissue of the Wild One. Both heavily flawed models known for their gearbox problems and fragile chassis but fitted with a hot motor are a challenge to drive but worth it. http://www.modelsport.co.uk/tamiya-fast-attack-vehicle/rc-car-products/40004
Wow, had the original wild willy when i were a wee lad, insert own joke, Got a fighter buggy at mo which me and boys mess about with when out, good fun. Wanna upgrade a bit tho'
You can't beat a bit of Tamiya Sand Scorcher and Rough Rider. My 2: And don't forget Tamiya reissued both of those. Top dollar prices but they are almost true to the originals.
I used to race model cars when i was a kid, with the local club Started of with one of these http://www.tamiyaclub.com/car.asp?id=66 Then moved on to the schumacher cars, did for about 5 years till i started messing around with beer and girls
A mate of mine has just give me a scooby rc car so I might my a vw camper one and put the scooby engine in it lol
I'm going to resurrect my chrome Wild Willy instead. I have fond memories of my Lunch Box and I dn'ot want it smashed up anymore.
I could never afford the tamiya rc models as a lad so i ended up with a mardave meteor with a lwb alloy chassis that could cripple shins in one blow
Mardave made unbelievably strong RC cars. I don't think they ever made any money is parts because they didn't break.
