WANTED T4 2L Alternator Mount Tin

Discussion in 'Late Bay Parts Classifieds' started by Norris, Sep 6, 2018.

  1. I'm currently rebuilding my type 4 2 litre CJ engine. I'm looking for an alternator ring and bracket in better condition than the ones I have.

Ignore the pre-heat riser in the photo - I've sorted that
Edit: bracket also sorted, just the mount ring to go

  7. Unfortunately not the same.
    Still after one...
  8. Do you mean the seal ring 022 903 203?
  9. I don't know the part number. It's the ring in the top right of my photo on the OP. I've updated the title to make that clearer

I need a rubber seal (or is it plastic? Mine's very hard) too but was going to try to source a new one of those

  10. I think if I have one its for a 70amp alternator so smaller hole
  11. What’s wrong with the one you have?

The seal is plastic – you won’t get a new one, unless somebody has a NOS in the back of their garage.
  12. It's a bit squashed but serviceable at a push

Edit: Ah, you mean the tin? It's a bit crusty, torn and mangled around the adjuster hole and nigh on impossible to fit and remove the plastic cover. I could try to straighten it out, but would be easier to get one in better condition if I can

Hi Norris, I have a perfect one. no rust, not bent & has the seal. :)

  14. Sorted now thanks
  15. Unfortunately I'm not sorted. There are two different alternator tins, with different sized holes. I'm after the larger size as pictured in my OP. This has a 14.5 cm hole (measured across the smallest dimension - it's slightly oval)

I also need a working thermostat if anybody has one

  16. Can have a look for the tin when I get home, but can definitely help you with the thermostat.
  17. Sorted for thermostat. Still after alternator tin
  18. Sorted elsewhere now
