Switch and bracket

Does anybody know when this push switch and bracket goes, has it something to do with handbrake?

Doesn't look like one. Have you got a "B" light on the instrument panel?

Switch for an alarm (if it is a switch)?

 

Thought this was about those two fellas who dressed as ladies and sang Gilbert and Sullivan songs. I can’t lie, I’m disappointed frankly.

 

@snotty iv got a brake light on panel and its deffo come off the van somewhere. The holes dont line up with hand brake carrier and it didnt have an alarm when i stripped it all out. i assume its a live switch as when you press the button in breaks the contact. Should have taken a photo when i stripped it out.

Is it for the pop top warning light.

 

Or perhaps someone fitted it to light the engine bay, I've seen similar switches used for that more than once, it's possible a "kit" was once available.

 

What @zedders said. If contacts are closed when compressed its probably for some sort of courtesy light retrofitted to the glove box or engine bay?
