Swedish Washer Bottle

  1. Are the washer jet hoses the 4mm? Can't remember. The original hoses are worth changing, but it's a real hassle to get them off.

yeah my final reducer came this am. Testing the pump over the sink and although it spins freely alone it’s really not spinning the 2 gears in the little water compartment very well. Might need a new pump…

Any pump recommendations, the VDO original seems mega bucks!!

I’ve gone with the 5 pin relay as I couldn’t figure where to power pin ‘I’ from… will try that relay later maybe.

  4. I used a little Lucas washer pump, which has lasted. Fits nicely on the bracket.

As above, the thin "I" terminal gives intermittent wipe (possibly equivalent to your "S" terminal. Maybe). "T" gives wipe while washing.

Don't let Mike's convoluted solution confuse you.

'T' & 'S' are definitely in the same positions when the relay is docked. The strange brown +12v line from the switch is tee'd in to there and to the pump. Never found a circuit diagram showing 'I' clear enough for me to be comfortable tieing it into somewhere....

This is the closest pump Ive found on ebay etc that should fit the bracket as is or worst case drill a few more holes in it

  6. Contacts in same place doesn't necessarily mean they do the same thing ;) But it's likely.

The "I" is a bog-normal terminal, but not one you're likely to find on a wiring diagram. Stick 12V on it through a suitable switch and intermittent wipe will start, honest.

This is the closest wiring diagram I've found and partly followed so far

  8. No need to follow existing wiring diagrams too closely. That one has an intermittent position on the wiper stalk, which you may not have.

  12. They do make a racket.

  13. Nice to see whoever did your kitchen actually put the isolators above the worktop where they should be, rather than buried behind the washing machine as usually done by Dave Spit Kitchen Installations

New washer pump arrived. Way quieter than the original and fits onto the same L bracket !!

  15. Bearings are prob knackered in the old one! Which pump did you buy?

ASC one from ebay. 24 notes or so. Think I linked a picture maybe 10 posts back…just nice you can dismantle it and bolt onto the old bracket!!

Hi, I bought this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/153125024060 same number as the original, but the connections are on the top rather than on the side. Makes it a bit tricky to fit.

Looks pretty much the same as mine but about a tenner more expensive. What was the problem with fitting the wires. Does the connector clash somewhere behind the panel ?

Yes it's an expensive pump I only got that one because I thought it was the same as the original. The wires are a bit tight under the Totem pole but will go with a bit of pushing.

ooo hadnt thought about that, did you use a T-block connector or put female spades straight on ?
