Summer Holiday

  1. I know Christmas hasn't come but I've been thinking of my Summer Holiday. My eldest daughter is 21 & is expecting a baby in March so she won't be coming, daughter no. 2 is 18 so I can't see her wanting to come. So this year it will be the missus & the 2 little ones. We are off in Milly for 23 or 24 days either from the 7th till the 30th of June or 26th June till the 23rd July.
We have decided to go to European Bug-in 5 http://www.facebook.com/events/220118021395888/
Nothing else is planned. Now we could tour around Germany & visit Hessisch Oldendorf http://www.uraltkaefer.de/
Obviously this would mean the earlier time in June. or we could go up to Denmark then back through Germany or the third choice is Italy either before or after EBI5 I really fancy Italy but its a long way down.
Anyone got any suggestions or recommendations?

  2. No kids, wow, do what you want and enjoy

  3. Go the Italy route down through Germany into Switzerland stay a few days in Lucerne we stayed across the road from the lake only a short walk from the centre it's a fantastic place, then through Gothard tunnel 10 miles, it's an adventure itself,
Then we stayed at lake Lagarna then lake Garda after a trip round lake Como, then back over Dolimites into Austria then the fern pass back into Germany,
This a fantastic journey a 2000 mile round trip from Suffolk,

  6. If you go through Switzerland or Austria you have to get a vinrete (road tax) we got ours in advance saves queuing at the border Swiss one lasts for a year Austrian for the days you are there but in doesn't cover the Bremmer pass from Italy you still have to pay a toll,
    Steve,

  8. Switzerland was about £27 you can go on the Swiss tourist website for latest prices you can buy them online and get it sent to you, Austria was about £8 for ten days also bought online we just put in Austria vignette and ordered online as well,
They have to be fitted in certain places on your windscreen. Instructions included but be careful they stick like ,,,,, to a blanket and can't be moved without damaging it, if damaged you have to get another , we stayed on some good sites if you want details let me know we used a book called German Bord Atlas which lists loads of stop over sites in Germany and when we bought it you got another covering Europe, got it on amazon ,
    Steve,
