Just a quickie - I have done a little google searching but please confirm this is a dynamo not an alternator. want to fit a new fuel pump but they are different apparently. both were available for cross-dressing variety. ta muchly \z
Dynamo. Either pump will fit, but if you think maybe one day you'll end up with an alternator, maybe get the universal/alternator pump.
Holy cow - it lives. But, unfortunately, so did my panic as i looked at a wet engine bay. I quickly turned off the motor and went back round to find a pool of fuel under the van. no obvious leak but the ominous drip drip of fuel somewhere. I have clamped the lines, tightened all the hoses and waited until there was no more drip drip drip. It is now too cold and too dark to carry out my plan. I think that the two hose clips are interfering with each other making me think they were tight but not. As the old one was in at the bottom and out at the top, the clips were configured so they didn't clash. I will now have to take them off and change them around. For another day!
