Given to a friend with a farm .died of old age ...only had for a year or so. Got to big ..too much work . and they eat and stink too much . I lived in new york city at the time and kept him in the basement. He was quite famous with the local kids .everybody loved him when walked down 23rd street. He wore a bowtie sometimes . The landlord was a old hippie friend of mine ,,,and there was a strict no dogs aloud on the lease . But it didnt mention pigs , so that was the joke/ rebelion .. ( but that idea didn't last so long either )
Did a job for a woman who kept a terrapin in her bath ,been there for years she said ,when she needed to use the bath she put it in a washing up bowl
Many years ago I used to work with a bloke called Dangerous Brian and one day he told us that he used to keep a lion as a pet. "It wasn't very big, Dave", he claimed. Obviously we all called bullsh*t on that story, but a couple of nights later he came into work with a pic of a younger & hairier Dangerous sat on a very seventies sofa with a Lion cub. Apparently it had come from a circus and at the time had all been legal and above board, but then legislation dictated that he surrender the animal to a Zoo. I don't know how he could have had the thing in the house, they stink enough to blind you.
Great story! There's a guy at our local who has a dwarf pot bellied pig on a lead. But yes, they do whiff. I have no pets, work too long hours and I like animals/dogs too much to keep them alone in the house. But when I finally retire.., My crazy sis has eight dachhunds so I reckon that's enough to go round!
Years ago when living and working in Zambia my Dad was asked if he could help fix a tractor belonging to the chief of a local tribe and in return he got a 3 foot crocodile to keep as a pet - he didn't want to refuse the gift so it was kept in the bath for a few days until it was found a more suitable home elsewhere
we have a ferral cat ,it act's most of the time like a normal cat , but sometimes it's like a secret agent running fast when you come near ... It's great when you take it to the vet, not a peep in the car ,they say because it is ferral ,it is very scared... we also have had snapping turtles etc...
A jackdaw that used to play ball with the dogs. A garter snake. And a large mould just to annoy some of the lads at work.
