Still in the game! Not bothering with any no-smoking aids, just jacked in the fags. Simple really (famous last words.....) Keep it up all!
The last time i tried to give up: I tried patches, they just fall off I tried nicotine gum, it just tastes gross This time, its just sweeties and the occasional drag from my leccy fag in the evening.
Day 5 Well done all of you, I am still failing to go a whole day without a smoke!! naughty me, I even got up at 5:15 this morning to go outside for a fag then back to bed :-[. The more I think about quiting the more I end up smoking! Oh well...tomorrow's another new day, and maybe just maybe will be the right day. :- Keep going you lot, you are an inspiration.
Howard64, don't worry about the odd fags keep on trying. I think we need to use a psycological trick to help us succeed. I enjoyed lots of special times with fags, like sitting on the step of the bus watching the ducks on the river with a cupof tea and a fag. If I tell myself I'm giving up forever then I know I can't ever enjoy a fag again and that makes it much easier to buy a packet of 10 and have just the one. I know from experience (I've given up lots of times) that that eventually means I'm back smoking just like I was before I tried to stop. Now I'm not giving up smoking at all...I'm just not smoking any this week. Next week I probably won't smoke either but it's my choice and I haven't given up the good time fags I'm just not smoking them at the moment. Hope that makes sense and gives you a bit of encouragement. We're in this together mate.
Well done to you all I think you are all an inspiration so much so I got home from work Monday night and had just one fag left, Mrs Robo said are you giving up? I said no I'm just not buying anymore! I've not had one since! Not sure how long its gonna last but I managed 5 years without the last time I gave up! Keep it up everyone Robo...

Yep cant say as I'm that bothered about pictures on packets, that said the impotence warning shocked an Egyptian waiter when we were out there a few years ago and he pointed to the writing on my fags and asked what it meant
Bloody well done all of you :mwave: I'm coming up to nearly two years off the fags now, even with MH smoking around me the whole time, and its totally worth it. Obviously I still crave a fag once in a while but it literally goes within seconds and now I can breathe so much better, not to mention exercise without keeling over ^-^ I noticed when we camp with TLB how few people smoke now and that nowadays it's cooler to not smoke, unlike when I was younger and it was the thing to do. Keep up the good work everyone!! MH, I'm very proud of you
Over a week now and its not bothered me yet. I'm sure it will, but so far so good. Sat outside the pub on saturday and didnt falter. Hows everyone getting on?
I was a bit late joining the party (and seeing the post) but today was day 1 for me. Managed to get to 5 mins ago without one, but now I know I'm not the only one struggling at the moment, tomorrow will be day 1 proper! Well done to those of you who are managing it.
