  1. anyone done the above using the bluebird bush to replace the bearin? outcomes? Difficulty? let me know Ta

  2. Brass is soooo 19 th century What about peek or some other engineering plastic ?

  3. I did my bug one with delrin 10 years ago and was easy enough no idea about a bus though

  4. You mis-understand. I have the bush, machined for the purpose and wish to fit it. I was trying to ascertain whether anyone else had fitted the bush, which is sold for this very purpose by Bluebird Customs of Great Harwood, so that i may benefit from their experience in the endeavour. My knowledege of modern synthetic, organic polymers is somewhat sketchy, however the bush crafted by Messrs Bluebird is of a tried and proven construction which I am happy to entrust to correcting the waywardness of my steering aparatus.

    Beakey and oscar like this.
  5. Easy to fit and works well, I was initially worried about fitting it, but easy peasy

  6. Did you remove the bearing and gubbins or just fit over the top by drifting it down the tube?

  7. I removed the existing worn bearing in its entirety and replaced with the bush, didn't take long, mines a 73 and I couldn't at the time get a bearing kit so had to use the bush.

  8. I've done it too a while ago now, but if i remember correctly, after a lot of reading up i just drifted the new one down on top of the old as is suggested all over tinterweb.
