  1. Hello each
What would or could cause a clicking sound from a steering box it's simular to a broken bearing in a push bike crank shaft

A worn out bushing on the cover plate.. adjuster screw basically stops working.

Welcome to the land of unobtanium.

Somebody with the likes of a Bridgeport mill can mill out the old bushing and press in a new 28x33mm bushing into the casting. This will be cheaper than finding a replacement if your bus is RHD.

The other click sources are the steering pin rocking, drag link ends and track rod ends and ball joints. It doesnt click until there is enough load to make it click...
When its on the ground if it is the bushing in the box, the end of the arm on the steering box will rock from side to side of the bus rather than go backwards and forwards with the steering.
Similarly if the vertical pin is worn, the arm on top of it rocks rather than rotates round the pivot.
