Just thought I would share with you my experience of service from Status VW, ordered and paid for a complete inner windscreen panel at the begining of December, they said it was in stock, the other parts arrived several days later but, no inner panel. I phoned them to be told it was on backorder and was due in, in two days and would be sent asap. A week went by, no part. Phoned them again was told part was with couriers and would be there very soon. Again didn't turn up, phoned again, they were closed for Christmas till 7/1/13 over the destive period, no part arrived phoned them on 7/1 was told the courier had it over all Christmas and it would delivered by Wednesday 9/1. Thursday arrived no part phoned them asked for refund to be told yes they would raise a credit for the cost and the postage. End of January still no part and now no refund either. I am £115 out of pocket and resorting to the card company to recover the money. I was going to spend about £1000 with them, no more I went else where, I know a lot of people said they are good and thats why I went for them originally but, all must realise that this sort of service is extremely poor and unnecessary. Please think carefully before using them in the future. Yorkieman
I've not really used them, but have to say that is appalling service, Especially as, if your like me you order a part because you need it and expect it in a week at the latest. :
thats bad buddy, unfortunately there seem to be problems with all the major suppliers at times and it seems you were one of the unlucky ones. i've never had problems with status, but i believe they had some issues with a fire a while ago! not that that condones what happened to you, i hope you get it sorted!
I've ordered one "genuine vw" part off them which turned out not to be. Instead I got a shoddy bit that they then said was OEM. Didn't work, and I couldn't be bothered with the hassle of trying to get a refund. Certainly not on my list of people to buy from in the future
You're certainly not! A customer of mine waited over 2 years for some seals. Of the ones delivered several had VWH stickers showing they were inferior parts to the ones he'd paid for. The whole thing went on so long I never heard if he got the complete order.
I nearly ordered my complete seal kit from them as I heard good things, I then came across the bad things so bought from C & C So glad I did It is a bit annoying when you order things and then get sorry, not in stock. Rather that though than being *******ed about !!! Honesty is the best policy
The problem is when they take your money then say out of stock. The likes of JK and VWH don't charge until it's in the post.
C & c seals are not all that good, I got some really shoddy cab door, slider and rear hatch seals, that the corners were stuck together crooked, and with crispy non flexible glue, and the slider seal was torn. Supposed to be, and charged top dollar for, German seals, but they were garbage. Sent back and asked for a refund, but no refund given after 2 weeks, turns out they do credits for me to spend at a later date!! Like hell, demanded my money back, always pay on credit card, then they will do the fighting for you I'm told c&c are good, but my experience wasn't, doesn't mean I won't use them again, bit I will be more careful and ask for recommendations!!
This is a helpful thread, just been on Machine 7 site that I hadn't heard of before. Any (useful) comments on Machine 7 quality , service etc, would be appreciated. Tony
or try Bigrich @ Coolair, top bloke & top service..cant fault them, Ive called several times recently for parts & theyve been bang on
^ yep, me too, just ordered a few bits from rich, one part wasn't in stock and they give you the option to dispatch only the in stock items. i then got a message from bigrich saying that the other part would be in tomorrow and that they'd send it together damn good service!
