Whats the consensus on these Halfords "075" starting batteries? https://www.halfords.com/motoring/b...-12v-car-battery-3-year-guarantee-950592.html Are they okay or is there any better brands out there?
I've always used Yuasa on my motorbikes, always found them to be pretty good so use them for both my bus's batteries now. Probably came from tanya also.
I agree i have exchanged the battery for my van twice , mind it was one with a five year guarantee so worth paying the bit extra , i had no issues on each return
Halfords are convenient for replacements. They work. I have never claimed on any warranty because by the time my batteries die they are past warranty date.
best prices and they turn up very quick and well packaged. mine's bosch s4 i think? biggest i could fit in the space. iirc there was a recent thread - zed posted one that was either bigger or cheaper than mine, can't remember but worth searching up that thread.
Hello, hmm, only 56Ah? Ok as starter battery and VW recommended only 45 Ah in the manuals - but very small for a camper van. I used 72Ah Varta Blue Dynamic - and need to exchange my old one after 10 years this week... I guess it was a 5 year guarantee. regards,
I've got a Halfords battery fitted with a 3 year guarantee that's at least 11 years old as I've never changed it
The one I linked is 56aH compared to the 46aH you linked?? CoolAirVW recommend the 075 style battery as suitable for Bays as well. Or am I missing a piece of information Mike?
One of my extended family members, who is now in Australia used to work for Halfords. He was in 'product development ' and had to visit suppliers etc. When at Yuasa, there was loads of batteries without labels, all the same, just waiting to be allocated to the retailer and to be labelled up.
No, just pointing out that really any modern car battery has the capacity to start a 1600cc and a slightly bigger one starts a 2000cc bus engine. The peak cranking current is about 1 amp per 10cc of capacity - 160 amps for my T1, 200 amps for a T4 or a 2110.
