I think its a very difficult choice but assuming it goes ahead I think I'll be voting for Wiggo TDF GC and Olympic TT gold in same year But I agree with the journo in the Times that said it should be abandoned this year as too many too choose from
Murray's got a huge chance aswell as Wiggo this year. I'm proud of him for his good ald guts and determination and I'm from England. Sorry Buddy.
While many may talk about who should win it, the reality is the majority demographic that actualyl bother to vote are the legions of flag waving mad old biddies that populate Henman Failure Hill year after year. As for the "personailty" aspcet being relevant can I remind you both Beckham and Owen have won it in the past. Therefore the incredible feats of athletes of the calibre of Farrah, Wiggins and countless others who've been at the top of thier sport for years won't count for anything because the bleu rinse brigade will all vote for a bloke who's entire career being a nearly man is so quickly forgotten because he won two important matches (the first of which I think he was given to be honest)
Note also that Giggs won it due to a ManU fans vote campaign. Over Jenson who'd won the F1 championship. I reckon it will be an Olympian, either Mo or Jessica. Personally I'd like the paralympian swimmer to get it. (forgot her name temporarily). For me she captured the spirit of the whole thing.
I really can't see it being Mo Farrah, the demographic I described above do tend to read the Daily Fail
Dont give up on Wiggo ... no doubt there will be the usual cycling weekly campaign ... and seeing the crowds at the Tour Of Britain last week cycling has a new group of followers )
I'd imagine Wiggins will but I'd love to see David Weir win it though. You never know though... could be John Terry
