Sparkafers

  1. Along with our two Bays we also have a couple of beetles from 1970 and '72. They are both Sparkafers (basic beetles). These were 'standard' beetles with 1200 engines, blade bumpers, smaller headlining etc etc.

We've owned these cars for many years! My wife's car is now in need of a full resto (when I get round to it!).

I bought my car as scrap more years ago than I care to remember and undertook a body off restoration. The car has sat dormant for years now tucked away in a garage. Today I was pottering around and took a few photos. I really must put it back on the road. I have a GT gearbox and a 2.1 stroker engine with Dellorto 48's sat in the garage....might be fun!

It needs a replacement heater channel as the bottom of the channel is rusted. I was grumbling that I replaced it already but then realised that was over 15 years ago!

  3. If I had a garage I would still have my bug from years back too, get that stroker lobbed in and have some fun :D
