Sometimes you have to just stop

  1. I have thought ,as many of you have seen of a change of career , there are a million and one things I could do and ones I want to do, but money for those is a problem , I could do for a living training and advice, consultancy , but here in Norfolk ,having researched it ,there are literally hundreds doing this. I could train in mechanics etc, but there is no training here for anyone over 25. I could start something in my well loved sector but under this government I would play straight into their hands and believe me in just a week the cuts are effecting us.

What I want is the one stop dub stop , cafe, bar, restaurant , garage, petrol station, camping , with a shop for the dub and classic camper ... I have it all just there just need investment ....

So what I have decided to start applying for 9-5 jobs that may strip me of my soul ......but I am counting on the lottery this Friday ...two sites old petrol stations with restaurants on Norfolk /Suffolk

Any millionaires out there please apply at po box ....and we can always dream on ....

Row, if that's what you would like to do, why not put a better more comprehensive plan together and go for it..you never know, it might actually work and gain momentum!

To get what you want from life is always a long game. I suffered being utterly skint changing to what I do now. I expect you'll think I'm exaggerating, but for the first 3 years I earned less than 10% of my previous income, just 6% one year! Could be why the wife left. If you really want to do something, or in my case you really DON'T want to carry on doing the same thing as you were, you'll just do it and bugger the consequences.

  12. i went self employed around this time last year, and the year has been tough some months but the contacts grow customers come back and you feel more confident you made the right decision. It all seemed so impossible before I took the plunge, but looking back I made the right decision. Don't get me wrong, I'm not out of the woods yet...not by a long shot but it's heading in the right direction you just have to push and do over and above for yourself and others and it will come back to you. like @zed said, you've got to think of the long game, set up services that you can't buy online! that's why there's so many bloody salons popping up! so petrol station, restaurant etc all good, and if you can link that to the products and sales business, with the whole camper/ car theme, then you may be onto a winner, if you had the space maybe a drive in movie theater too..?

  13. No need to do that. I'm actually thinking of getting someone in to cook for me. My cooking skills are really annoying me at the moment. I can't pay you in money, but I know how much you love my cuddles and affection, and they're worth their weight in gold.

Edit: I'm now going to go and make yet another sandwich. :(

  16. I'm moving down Cornwall way next year and there's not much work for what I do now. So will probably end up pushing trolleys for tesco.
    Can't wait.
