Something squeaky....

Got the exhaust back on but the engine had developed a strange high pitched squeak. Kind of intermittent at first then always there. Didn’t notice it before on a stock exhaust, now running a SS manifold and quiet pack. Will try to upload a video

Any ideas?

In the past this has been down to big air leaks on the intake side where something got knocked while working on the engine or forgotten.
Some high perfomance dual barrel carburettors squeak, so do some Beetle exhausts.

The SS single quiet pack doesnt squeak on mine.

 

Sounds like air whistling through a hole into the inlet manifold. Check manifold boots.

 

Check you haven’t bent the tinware behind the crank pulley.
