Erm....what's the issue with the nursery abiding by their data protection policy? Where would they stand if you and the other party got heated and something bad happened? If you know who did it - why not simply approach them yourself at picking up time.....
Yes - because it's not lawful for private or public enterprises to CCTV the street without good reason - the cameras should at most cover entrances. If it's a private car park, that's a different issue.
surely on a nursery its a different story, if the worst was to happen surely the evidence of the nurey both inside and out needs to be monitored? shops have CCTV of entrances, why the hell not nurseries? if their kiddie got pinched, theyd want to see who cam in and out!
We'll do this but as its a private nursery we'll be waiting anytime between 5 and 6.15. We can only get there by maybe 5.45?? Will go there tomorrow morning and wait from 7.30am also and see what happens. Hopefully she brings her kiddies in on a Thursday. Also not sure DPA is relevant as I'm not asking for woman's details I'm asking nursery to pass my details on to the woman.
Maybe keep quiet on the age of the witness just in case they try & cast doubt. I had a woman park at the side of me at work. Parked on full lock in reverse. 6 year old gets in and "starts car for mummy". New rear door and a respray later...
Yup was going to keep quiet about that. Was also going to show her the cameras but not tell her they were off at the time
Practically speaking I can see why it seems like they are blocking/being unhelpful - but having done the whole information commissioner bit for work, it's moving data. Their safest strategy is to simply not do it.
Nursery head office called to say they won't pass my details on as they don't want to get involved. Unbelievable!
Bad luck my friend. I had same thing at a retail park last year and I didn't know who done it. On the other hand I don't like parents taking there children to school by car because they cause a lot of hassle for us that walk and you get them parking were they like in there posh nob cars and range rovers. Also it make commuting to work a hassle, I like it when a bump happens it puts a smile on my face . If I was you I would just wait for them to turn up and confront them. Ring your insurance up and give all the details you have, let them be in touch with the other party.
Sorry Razzyh - but I think I agree with the nursery. If they pass on your details and then it all "kicks off" - then they could be involved - so they are probably wise to refuse to contact the other party
I can see why they did it; similar reason why most people will walk past an injured person on the street... I don't agree with it though.
It doesn't look like it's dented the skin but hard to tell. Even if it T-Cuts out I'd still be having a word with the other driver AS LONG AS I WAS 100% CONFIDENT who that was... If that meant me getting to the place an hour or so earlier than normal then so be it.
