Snail fan - fuse

  1. While in the engine bay today I looked into why my fan was not working. Fuse had melted inside the in line fuse holder!!!

So took that out and fitted a modern blade type fuse holder instead. Did it properly as well - solder the wires together then put heat shrink insulation over it.

The question - what amp fuse should go in here?

  2. I'd go for 16A, meself.

  3. Ours blew last year, twice,, the fan had seized, took it apart, greased and it works again

  4. Doing its job then ;). I'd imagine seizure due to crud is probably the most likely fault. The motor'll take a fair old current when it's running.

  5. Mine spins lovely when I took it out and cleaned it so will pop a new fuse in when I'm next out there. Thanks all.
