Small cracks in fibre glass roof

  1. Here's a question that a mate of mine asked recently: Why would a fairly new replacement fibreglass roof (which was fitted properly, wasn't dropped or anything like that), on a campervan, suffer small cracks in the resin (on the outside, in the area where it meets the metal part of the roof)? It was fine when he fitted it 2 months ago, since which the roof's only been up once and, whilst garaged, no-one could have possibly interferred with it. They're only small hairline cracks, but worrying nonetheless.

Your roof isn't straight so when it sits on it and you drive down the road it distorts the new fibreglass causing stress which leads to cracking , this probably explains your steering problems and may even mean the roof needs to come off be put in a jig and straightened out , then welded back in using lazer guided weld machines and seriously big clamps , soz Matt this really is a big problem , its the usual sign of roof wobble as its known .

And i am lying , chill out dude , its normal ;)
