sloppy gear lever

just a been for a drive in my bus and ive now got no 1st or 2nd gear ,but now my gear leaver is all over the place is there anything that i should be looking for under neath that might be missing cheers

 

Is bolted down tight?

Sounds like the ball has lifted out of the cup or the sprung loaded pin in the ball has come away

 

If you look at this picture you will see a ball at the bottom of the gear lever

Through the centre of the ball is a spring loaded pin

The ball and pin slot into the cup on the selector rod and the pin pokes out of a thin slot in the side of the cup



I dont think i took a pic of the selector shaft when i refurbed mine but ill take a look on photobucket

 

Do those quick shift plate things work Para?

 

Yeah they do

When i bought the bus mine was already fitted
When i put the bus back on the road i didnt refit it and really noticed the difference

Dont ecpect magic dude but the do shorten the shift

 

Ta. Dont expect miracles just a bit of a shorter throw would be useful. Hod do they fit? do they go above the reverse plate?
