Sliding door opening carpet trim retainer?

Discussion in 'Camper Conversions' started by Cov1987, Apr 22, 2015.

  1. Just completed the complete removal of the Westy Berlin interior. It went as well as can be expected with an almost 40 year old bus. However, the aluminium strip by the slider that holds the carpet down was problematic as the little poxy screws were locked solid. In the end pulled the carpet out with some leverage but also the wife demolished the strip itself(like in 3 pieces!).

Does anyone do replacements or know of a generic supplier for such an item?

BTW the carpet looked amazing consdering how old it is and the abuse it must have taken. Unfortunately the sub-floor underneath was a mess....kinda expected...but the metal work only had a few small spots of rust :) I will be reading all of the threads on TLB for tips on floor construction- this site really does rock with gem info!!

  4. Thanks @MorkC68 I ordered a load of stuff from them yesterday before we went extreme violence on the interior :)

@paulcalf yes indeed. although less glamourously these days we need a few more points before we are safe this season :-(

  5. After last nights matches we only need 1 more point and we are mathematically safe, regardless of other resuls. Will sort it this weekend.

Shame we are still battling relegation even though we are in 3rd division. We have got out of far worse situations, i'm not worried this year

  6. Great I hadnt seen the results.

When we were looking for a camper I drew up a list of requirements with my wife; needs to sleep 4 bla bla bla

Then I saw this on the fbivw web site ..it's sky blue and everything!!!! Could put a replica of the FA cup on the dash :)

Change of plan as obviously the kids would then have to sleep in a tent but sacrifices have to be made lol

I then read this and saw it as divine providence http://www.ukwebad.com/Adventurewagon/Page8.jpg

Unfortunately ringing fbivw they don't actually keep their website updated and it had gone.....grrr....sob...sob...back to the Westy idea then :-(
