The spring has broken on the latch that holds the sliding door open on our 1979 camper. This means I have to faff about with a poking device to get the latch to engage.

Is it easy to replace the spring once the sliding door is off?

Does anyone have the part number to hand please? I've looked at a few diagrams but am struggling to tell which part I need

  2. pretty sure you can replace the spring without takign the door off? i did mine years ago, don't think it was that hard to do?

    This one? Part number: 211843755.
It's a quick job to replace and will be fairly obvious when you take a look at it.

This picture illustrates quite well how the spring fits.
Just fit one end of the spring onto the lever, and then use a pair of pliers to push the other end into the hole.

I spent an afternoon with a clothes peg spring when it annoyed me.
