Sliding door handle has gone "baggy"

  1. Hi Guys and Girls,

With the collection our van imminently upon us (sat) from the new buyer, the sliding door handle decided to have wobble, quite literally, I think its a fairly new handle if i remember rightly. its just gone totally floppy from either side, seems like the thread has gone and wont grip, although i shouldn't think it would be both sides, does anyone have a idea what it may be before i go rutting through it at dinner time.

    Cheerssss

  2. Probably the cable from the front to the rear mech for a guess. If it snapped then you'd lose tension and it would go wobbly I think. Shouldn't be the handle itself as it has a square peg in a square hole. Or it could be the tensioner spring. Take the door card off and have a nosey, that's your best bet.

Or it can be that the stepped pin inside the lock mechanism has worn through.
It connects the top wire from the lock via a sliding plate to a bit that goes round with the handle.
It should be a T profile and will have become a metal disc that drops out as the lock mechanism is removed.

  4. Me fixed ittt, then it broke again...Still fixed it thou..:)

So it was the cable that had disconnected to the plate that slips inside the mechanism lock, hooked it back on again, worked for a bit happened again, for got to tighten it up :)

    cheers guys
