Skegvegas... 15-17th August 2014

Is it a good event and worth the trip?

Any thoughts or anyone going?

 

We went last year - it's a nice little show. The best bit was the people we camped with - still unsure about going this year because of other commitments. The journey for us was not great.

 

went last year and loved it, i'd like to go this year but i can't get time off around the date and don't want to do just a weekend with travelling so far i'd like to stay a few days.

 

Best venue and show last two years running, I just hope they keep it as it is and not go all big stylee on it and ruin it

Yep, enjoyed it last year but like to do different stuff each year so probably won't go this time.
Not actually in Skegness tho but in a nice big country park.

 

yeh had a great time last year with some great people off here , im sad to say we cant make it this year as we are already booked for hol on IOW which clashes . Nice little show

 

We went Norfolk for a week camping last year but fancy going this year, problem is id like to spend a bit longer away like you Ricky & found a great looking site nearby that allows open fires, in fact every pitch has its own fire thingy so really wanted to try it but alas with everything this year I'm all out of spare holidays at work

 

crap innit? i've been desperately trying to juggle days off to try and make a few longer weekends away but can't do it, the problem in my job is i have to save 5 for xmas as they shut down from around 22nd onwards - i bloody hate christmas and being forced to have time off and therefore shorten my summer camping irritates me.

 

We don't have any forced shut downs here so usually I'm good for holiday, however I had time off when my mum passed & they took it off my holiday entitlement & also Mrs Robo was desperate for some sun so I've had to use a week to take her Benidorm in October!

I do want to get a few more basic budget weekends away over the summer, beer & bbq somewhere local, the Rutland Water site was good and a trip to Eddie's farm would be good too!

 

Great show and booked again for this year

 

We went last year and had a great time, very chilled and we didn't have any knobs camping near us , which was nice.
Got all the way from essex to the other side of boston befor we saw another camper van , and that was parked in someones garden.
Going to v-dub island this year and staying on for the bank holiday scooter rally
Double win for me.

 

Thanks for the great comments guys, and don't worry Woody we don't want to get to big either, it would ruin what my wife and I have strived for over the last eight years

 

Think i will give this a try this year!

Mosh out..beers. .grub....rack o ribs...jono well cooked....larfs....communal breakfast....dog walks...photos .....more grub.....barbies.....marsh mellows....loud drum n bass care of bugcatcher.....late night talk......n keeping it real.. oh n free vw interiors....nearly had a settee. Lol.
