Silent gliss curtain rail Who's fitted them and how?

  1. Hi all, going to have to fit the curtain rails in the van over the next week and i'm looking for pointers from those that have fitted them.

    Namely:
Which way up do you put the rail?
Where is the best place to start to get bends in a decent place on the track?
Any other tips? I understand its best put somthing none collapsable in the track for bending what have you used?
Also what do you use to hold the curtains back when they're closed?

Cheer TLB'ers as always tips and pointers greatly appreciated!

easy to bend do it slow, a pig of a job 2 3 man lady job ::) ;)

  3. we have them in ours, didnt find them too bad to fit, just start at one corner of your van and work your way round. when you bend them, you can easily do it by hand, just do not bend it too sharply or the curtain loops will not pass through the gap left in the runner. good luck mate.

  4. Thanks Guys, Ive just finished the rear (i only went out to see how hard a job it looked and ended up doing most of it), its not as bad as some make out, though i havn't done the cab yet, i started around the sliding door bent it roughly to shape and then srcewd it into place, i decided to go just above the bit that sticks out on the top runner, the curtains are quite long so cover the windows well.

    Thanks again for your input.

  9. Well i fitted mine, screwed em' in, and by some huge fluke (because i was intending the cab to be seperate) they lined up all the way round.

I will be changing one of the cab side though as i must have bent it too tight the gliders go round it but its a bit tight, where as the other side glides round ;)

All in all quite happy with it :)

  10. i had most on mine from original but had lots of spares and only found out the other month where they were from lol....so now the dormi roof has the track fitted to the original wood and the back door and the shelf had a little bit on so i think that was it front had poppers at some point but have thermal mats anyway so the front has its own thing going on for now :)
