I have had a search but but can't find any threads on this.

Sidesteps, under the sliding door - I've seen a fair few for sale - most seem to be mounted on the jacking points.

Is this a good or bad thing? Can anyone suggest and alternative?

I think they look daft. It's hardly a big climb into a bus.
Alternatives: milk crate, spare wheel, lower bus etc.

  4. I've got 2 sliding doors so would need two of them!

Instead I've got a couple of these:

Calm down dear, dont go getting all defensive.
You made a point that as people have them, they must be useful. I just made the point that functionality isn't high on the list of priorities for many people when it comes to accessories. I didn't say that was a bad thing, simply a fact.
Had you mentioned that you were only 5' and struggled to clamber in I would simply have suggested a milk crate.

if i'm honest the side steps that fit in the jacking points look fairly useless for stepping in with, i'm happy to be corrected though i just like the look, so i'm getting one to match my chrome bumpers....you may be better getting a caravan step with 2/3 steps to make it easier for her.

  10. Ive got the one that fits into the jacking points but I wouldnt advise to use one of those as there pretty useless as an actual step

"If you can suggest, perhaps, dare I say it, in a more helpful way..." (which incidentally i did in my first post) and " I'll search her for chrome eyebrows first if that helps" : and I'm the condescending one?
    Ok.

  18. i ve got a side step, tho its not used as a step and isnt there just for bling! "What on earth do you use it for?" i hear you ask, well the simple answer is i tie the dog to it when we are camping!!!
In all honesty as mentioned earlier they are useless as steps, if you can find one you would be better of with one of those pop out steps that come out as the door is opened that i believe ( correct me if wrong ) were fitted to ambulances.
    hope this helps.
