I have been so overwhelmed with tlb gifts that i have decided to start a " show us your gift thread " a thread to appreciate and thank others for their generous and random acts of kindness towards other tlb members . These are a couple of the gifts the tlb guys have sent me over the years and i really have been astonished each time , thank you to all you tlb guys , not just for my gifts but the gifts i know go flying back and forth between us all . This one was one of the first , from Jan " Holmsen " yesterday i got this - From someone unknown but defo a tlb member , in the past i have received , bar badges , badges for my hat , cv joints , new earth leads , stickers , cab mats , door vent stops ,new mudflaps and a lot of other stuff to help me with my resto too nunerous to mention , once i asked if anyone had a part for sale and a very nice prototype bay member who shall remain unnamed ( ozziedog ) met me with the part and chucked in a new petrol tank and some other bits free of charge , someone else got that foc and i received a bottle of lagavullin by return post -couple that with superb advice and general support , then we have to say we do have a really special community here , thanks you lot you really are tops . Now how about showing us yours
We've received some Kombi club forum stickers from Terrordales, a gnome from Hailfrank. The first show we went to with thelatebay was Elemental, Hailfrank & the boys looked after us all weekend and wanted nothing in return. Steve (lowie) has been round a few times when we've been struggling with jobs at home, Woody, Adam & Amanda, Trev n Shel, Al & Tina, Zoe & Paley - all of these guys deserve a mention too
kiss mug from hailfrank brown teapot set from poptop2 badges and models from Barneyrubble van heating parts from Silver tinware from zed probably other bits i forget but thanks anyway - i usually give stuff away because of these people, i don't think i've sold any of my bits i don't want i just pass them on.
not forum related but a guy on ebay sent me an exhaust for free after i had shown interest. Nice chap! his name was ian and he lived in coventry if anyone knows him?
That book looks brilliant. I'm doing lots of woodcraft and camping at the moment with my dog Chloe and I can just see myself sat in my hammock by the campfire, brew on, and whittling a few sticks into works of art. If nothing else it's another reason to buy another knife.
bernjb56 gave me a pretty hot water bottle that matched Molly T-Pot for thise extra chilly nights... and sANDYbAY kindly made me not one set but two sets of keyrings after the first was well and truly destroyed by mr.muggins... 72wilma made a pretty christmas decoration of a camper (even though it was a splitty ) loved it... and bekyip has sent me some lovely home made soaps too
oh and i got some heater cap things too which were great again one of them destroyed by mr muggins please whoever sent me these own up as ive forgotten and i'd like to thank you but cant get to my old pms from before the crash... sorry x
Thank you yorkshirecampers ,sorry I forgot that one. In my defence I did pass it on to another member howard64 I think! I also forgot that burntout supplied me with weekend tickets to dubisland last year.
I was given a fuel filter by a guy at Techenders - it fitted my bus but not his, a Christmas hat from Tiny Pie (which was great because it was freezing at the time) and Xmas pig from the Wilmas which is still attached to the rear view mirror and not gone mouldy yet. I was told it was bad luck to leave up Xmas decorations but I like it and so far so good...
