Lol. Gail Ann Dorsey is my fave ladybassist. As well as playing for Bowie, she's a belting musician - worth a listen to her tunes

 

If I had my time in bands in my yoof over again, I’d like to be a bass player. They are generally way cooler and tend to be at the lower regions of the Bellend Scale compared to the vocalist or lead guitarist

 

The bass has a certain simplicity And as you say, bass players generally don't act like egotistical tw*ts.

Just been listening to a clip review of the Newport bass on the Tube of You. The reviewer didn’t rate it much but it sounded great to my ears. Plus it’s a very attractive looking instrument, in that retro way
