It was a basic thing ... Front shock spring went bang and jammed up against the inside of the tyre ... so given my particular "skill set" I doubt it would have been any different!
Just glad it didn't happen on the M way from Broadstairs to London.
Van was packed to the ceiling with furniture from My Dad's hol flat that he's just sold.

Saltburn today

 

Ta ... Super loud bang and a drumming that made me think it was a shot bearing .... Checked it wasn't a tyre and crept on (one mile from destination) A pedestrian shouting "you've got smoke billowing out of your front wheel arch!!" put a stop to that.
Amazed the tyre wasn't knackered.
Still made it to a family wedding the next day, but not on the way home with an empty van as planned ... Extra night back in London and emptied it next day ... then filled it up again with some seventies designer chairs I'd sold for his lordship that evening
