Went up the local car electrical supply place earlier and asked for a set of points for my van.
He said it’s a bit old, and probably not.
I said to him that the sign above his door said it was a car electrical parts place, and that he should have in a ‘ what sort of a place do you call this’ sort of way. ( jokingly).
He said, “ your a gardener, you got any acers?” ( first thing he could think of for some reason).
I showed him this pic and said “yes! Next to the van that I need points for, from a car electrical parts shop!”.
I laughed, the other assistant laughed...
but he never...

 

I got all that to come later in the year...

Almost ready to fire up my rebuild 1300F

While I was at it, I drained the 4 years old gas and gave the tank some much needed rust treatment.
Lot's of rust, but not rotten. And as I beleive it is quite specific to '68 model, I prefer save it

I'm not a fan of magical rust treatment products, but I have used Tanic and Fertan brands with succcess.

And I have discover the front bulkhead panel to be rotten
And I thought I would just redo the brakes to have it MOT ready...

I really don't envy you mate, it back all the memories of when I extended the kitchen, relatively simple compared to your job, but the mess went everywhere. Keep the photo's up though it's going to be a interesting job.
