I've only been to Croyde once in 1977, I'd just bought my first "proper" motorbike, a Suzuki GT250 and went camping there for a week with my mate who was riding his Kawasiki KH250. It was a long way from Hemel Hempstead but we had a great time, these days I find it quite inconceivable that anybody of sound mind would go all that way on a GT250!

 

I cycled from London to Middlesbrough once ... Does that make you feel any better?

I think that you are doing well there! Alfie would have tried to swallow it whole and George would have shredded it in minutes

 

We were sitting in the pub aged late teens and one of the guys decided that the next day he'd ride his dad's sit up and beg to Spain and off he went. He set off with one dole check and came back about a year later. One could do that kind of thing back then, I'm not so sure now.

 

It doesn't bear thinking about , would you do the same again now?
