Better half’s car is due it’s MOT, thought I’d check out the history....it’s had two years of advisories on the front disks so reasoned that’s as good a place as any to start.

  2. One of my brothers recently upgraded his garden shed and offered his old one (only 5 years old) to me - free to collect. Today, as the afternoon temp hit a heady 2 degrees C, I finally got to christen it. That's 1 hour of pure man-cave happiness right there!

Really I'm running out of space in the garden and have no idea what I'm going to do with it but a person can never have too many sheds!

We’ve been very very lucky with her, she’s a tart for any sort of camera!

I’m absolutely taken by the breed, this one loves everyone and is great with other dogs.

Have you set it up so that it appears like a border crossing circa 1950 in the former Eastern Block?

Btw, where I come from to Christen* something is to have a shag in it.

I mean fair play, unless your partner is into minimalism or indeed former border crossing shacks.

    * with the exception of actual christenings.

They are, my older brother (ex tif from Yeovilton) switched me on to them, he rescues them.

I loved my Sharpei more than anything for the 12 and a bit years I had her.

She was very much My dog, hated most other dogs and was selective who she would approach people wise.

Whereas Indy loves everyone, is very clever, and she’s great with other dogs.

Im amazes how different two breeds can be.

    Do you not fancy another?

  10. I’d love another one but it’s not the right time for me. I couldn’t devote enough time to a dog at the minute, so I stuck just spoiling other people’s for now. Yours is definitely a beaut.

I was able to make a brief visit to check all ok with my boat. I want to be able to play/work on her. Hopefully Covid situation will improve by summer. Actually the bed looked so cozy I just wanted a kip :)

I didn’t think I’d get another as we have cats, but we live really rural now and I work away a lot....I wanted a dog that would make people think twice about coming on to the property.

Word had apparently got around, my temp office at home looks out the front and suddenly all the various delivery drivers over Xmas started walking up to the house like they were navigating a mine field.

Might be something to do with the bite training I’ve been doing on the drive, better to have her express that part of her instincts than never address it....again, very different to my Sharpei in terms of sheer power....she’s far less technique but a lot easier to command, however pretty much all other times her default is belly rubs with just about everyone she meets.

Eventually I’d like this one to be a therapy dog to take around the old folks homes if/when they open....we also have a huge special needs school I’ve given time to in the past, she might be good as a visitor there but that might be a big leap for her, she’s still a bit boisterous if the other person has that energy.

The deal is, once the cats shuffle this mortal coil (11 and 12 bless em), we get the dog that’s been left longest in the pound, or the oldest. You have to pay these things forward don’t you, our ‘lucky sods’ ledger is firmly skewed and needs to be reset.

One if the cats ‘helping’ me work from home before Xmas.

That was a waste of bloody time!!! Main starter battery was flat as I hadn't driven/started it since last Wednesday - Tracker feeds off main battery. Solar should have trickled charged it but I'm not sure how effective it has been with the thick frosts and snow on it some days.

Time to get the receipt out as it's only 18 months old. Heather took the car instead, she was going to pick some bicylces from her school for me to fix, oh well.

  16. I'd imagine flattened by the tracker (radio too poss), I'd have thought snow will have stopped the solar from working too.

Just been out and plugged the mains hook up lead in and put the charger on the starter battery. The solar is still putting out 0.4amps but it goes to the leisure first - I might see how I can change wiring or things so that it works a bit better to trickle charge both a bit more evenly.

  18. Did the same a few years ago - friends having a garden room installed and their 6' x 4' shed was stood in the way.

Had it dropped off by their fitter and put it back together.

Its now full of random tatt I've accumulated.

  19. Can't beat a bit of sensory deprivation (apart from beer, obviously) to help bring about meditative enlightenment :p

There were promises from the better half when I put up the previous shed but I'm still waiting, always too hot, too cold, too dark, not dark enough, what if the neighbours hear something, excuses, excuses... :D

  20. Would surely be easier to connect the drain culprits to the leisure side if things ?
