Show question.

Discussion in 'Shows Events You've Missed unless you went' started by Poptop2, Nov 26, 2014.

  1. Ive only been on the forum for year and you make a good point, apart from techenders and @physiopro organising a cracking meet at Eastnor, there should be a few more, excuse me if I've missed a few...

Not sure about shows but anyone can organise a camp, Some people seem to like going back to the same places year after year, some people like to try and mix things up a bit. Picking a good venue in a location that suits lots and not just a few and then trying please everyone is a nightmare, get summat sorted Malc

not meant as a dig but think about it
    honky - never on
    hailfrank - no bay
    dog - no working bay
    lord charles - never on
    hippy ric/jen w - never on
terrordales - on most days but a million miles away
    wilmas - on occasionally
    dubwieser - as above
    bernjb - on most days
therefore how do you propose it malc?

I might be thinking along those lines actually. I would have liked some input from above though.

yes agreed, Andy did a great job. So too did Austin at Stanford Hall. They are just members like us though.

I am not proposing anything. I am asking the question. Do you know the answer?

You do a great job with t/e's though mate.

Awaits the usual " I do nothing it organises itself ya da ya da ya da!

  7. Personally, I think those members on the forum who organize meets etc. voluntarily do sterling work.....it's like Woody said....if an event piques people's interest, they'll turn up....I, for one, like the idea of gate-crashing other people's meets...not just VW oriented

the answer is as woody says.
i think the "golden age" of regular tlb organised meets are long gone, when i first joined the mods were very proactive and we were encouraged to come to meets, i attended many in the first year of ownership and nowardays it seems to be "pushed" less.

Surely you can just arrange something?
    Camping doesn't need TLB ratification...

it is a few phone calls that's all.

  11. Classic car show at the NEC is a good example.....pick a nice site within striking distance and gee up some interest....it'd most likely attract like-minded people

any common interest would suffice....plenty of MTBers for example...why not a TLB biking weekend?

We are a club of sorts. Why can't we have club organised events?

maybe it's worth actually running an official thread with admin input and electing a club secretary who organises such things then? if you want to have an official tlb meet.
i started a thread on dubfreeze camping in Feb, soon died a death.

Surely if you arrange and tout a camping trip on here it becomes a TLB event by proxy.
Who gives a Marmite if the mods approve? Their job is moderating, not giving permission for us to camp.

If I did undertake to organise something I would like to think we could revive the TLB bon ami.

That's not supposed to sound like it does before anyone gets their knickers in a twist!

You aree going the wrong way with this, I am not after approval. I would like leadership of sorts!
