Cam and Neil have decided to sell the doka and want more than I want to pay etc. So the time has come for the doka to go and I am being really dithery about it. It's probably age and a yearning to get it back for myself. They have asked me to sell it for them as it stands, as a project with the standard 1600 lump and add all the bits we have accumulated for it to the sale. It owes us about £1700 atm and still needs a fair bit of work, although the sills, front panel, cab floor, arches, most outriggers and one battery tray is now solid. it still needs a battery tray on the offside and the load bed needs addressing, and the bottom floor panels need patching. So not for the faint hearted. Hence I want it off them for what I paid for it and they want all the money back ( even though I did the work thus far and have supplied quite a few bits ) Anyhow. we have decided it is in all our interests to just sell it and free up my garage for a project of my own! So what would you do if it was yours? Ebay it with all the hassle that comes with ebay or think of a price and offer it up on the forums. I will listen carefully to all suggestions and appreciate the input. Malc
Sounds a bit unfair to you to be getting rid of it TBH. But anyway, I'd bung it on ebay as a classified and on the forums for £1850 to allow a little wiggle room and cover the cost
I can understand it Dave. They are leaving uni next month and need as much money as they can get. I would want as much as I could get if it was mine tbh.
Cut the back off completely, throw in a few sheets of corrugated ally and a couple of sheets of ply and sell it as a Karmann Gypsy kit
If I was kindly gifted something by someone, who then went on to work on it for me for nothing and I did not want it, I'd gift it back - not outbid them and sell it to someone else
Buy it off them, what else are you going to get for £1700, Finish it then decide, load bed isn't nearly as bad to do as you might think Malc
I had been thinking of doing just that Dunc. Then I thought. let it go Malc. You want a tintop day van really! I will ebay it and see what that brings I think.
They have paid the purchase price and bought some of the panels etc. I have only done the work and bought a few odds and ends like engine bar, tins,a few of the sill items and all the associated welding equipment! It could work out cheaper to let them sell it.
I dunno about the future Dave, but I did park next to a rhd Westie day van last year and liked it very much.
Ah - then my apologies, I did not realise that the financial part was a round table contribution.....
i expect your get more than you think if you ebay it . they will soon spend the money thats for sure . Good luck what ever they/you do .
