We saw a nice burgandy and white bus in Whiston about 13.45 heading up the hill towards Aughton. Was it anyone on here?

Is there still a big leisure Cente up there, with a wave machine?
I went there with my mate Kev, who’s ‘real dad’ lived there, still.
    About ‘79...

You just brought back a 70s memory. Probably around '76 I remember going with friends.

What was it called? I forgot.
Tropicana, Paradise Centre? Something like that?
I can still picture it, even today.
    Quite dark in there....

  8. Bit vague for me too but I used to go to a pool with waves back in the early 90's - I thought it was at Herringthorpe.

Think the combination of wave machine and silly lighthouse structure that didn't go all the way to the pool bottom, resulted in a kid being "taken " , drowned trapped under said structure.
That hastened the Leisure centre's demise.
