Seat Springs

  1. ok It might not be a Mech Tech question, but were can I get cab seat springs. Mine have had over 40 years of use and with my weight on them they have decided to buckle :rolleyes: what, were and how much was yours :hattip:

    It is possible to replace them with upholstery serpentine or zig zag springs. E.G.

    I used similar on my passenger seat and even welded sections of these in parallel with some of the wierder shaped springy bits in the seat. Used steel wire to wrap them together then welded with 0.6mm wire.
    And bits of heavy duty mild steel fence wire to replace the joins between the springs where they had vanished.

    You can straighten bits out to some extent or bend extra angles in.. Use pump pliers and heavy gloves to bend bits.
