My bus has been undergoing a Subaru 2.5 flat 4 conversion by Fellows Speedshop in Birmingham. Today she was fired up for the first time and started first turn of the key. She's not quite ready for a drive yet. That'll be next week. But what a beautiful noise! Sweet as a nut. It sounds very much like a type 4 VW engine. Just with a hell of a lot more power. I'll post a vid when she's off for her first test drive.
Yes, I was over there this morning to talk to David about the possibility of an EJ20, and very nice it looked too. Pity they hadn't got it fired up when I was there, but the brackets holding up the radiator were just going on as I was chatting to David. He's trying to line up a test drive in an EJ20'd bay so I can see what it'd be like before I place my order.
Nice I don't want to seem rude but how much is the costing to fit a scooby engine to the bus ? Been looking into my self
was mr moons bus there too, his is having the same done, bloody traitors..... anyone know who'll do me a diesel conversion? although i do belive the brazillian bays had a diesel one time but they didn't last long...cooling an issue with diesels i belive.
Ok fair point is that them supplying everything ? I've looked into doing most of the work my self then getting is wired by a pro
So - if it sounds like a type 4 do you think the wife won't notice if I get one fitted on the quiet? I'm really considering this as well so looking forward to more info.
I think I could do most of it my self once I've got the parts id just prefer someone else to wire it up
Sounds really great mate - you've been waiting very publicly for this. 75hp is nice in a bus - yours is going to be mental. I have a suspiscion, boot to floor it'll have a mind of it's own far as the direction your going. Hang on tight dude.
