Im back from the first day of Scarborough surf festival and well... bit of a wash out, raining and next to no surf, but a few vans turned up, saw @dan hymer1984 s bus but no Dan, and as I said desperation got the better of me and surfed for a while and ended up getting pictures taken by the local newspaper as I was the only one stupid enough to be in the water haha got a few gooduns though! Lets hope tomorrow is a better day!

 

well done tom , hope we get to see the papers shots of the master and you can put your whip away tomorrow too .

 

few bus pics that I took before leaving was too cold and wet to do the full row so stood in basically one place and took a few haha

 

Ah we didn't see you tom, we kind of abused the free parking, and went for a skate to South Bay,, well be about tomorrow abit more if your about. Well on the way to having a hangover, hopefully be up early enough for a surf my self

Yeah weather is looking better and there was the odd set lateish that looked ok, competition will be over by 12 tomorrow they were saying, hitting it early for low tide,

Kite surfing on the other hand looks fantastic. I'd have been doing that if it had been around when I was a lad.

Today was a better day all round! got there about 10 and the sun was out, waves were up and the comp was on, rather than watching from the shore I put my still wet wet suit on grabbed my board and jumped in! while catching my own waves I could chill out and watch the pros straight down the line, it was great! had over 2 hours in the water got out for some lunch and a chill and ended up meeting up with @dan hymer1984, had a good chinwag and before I knew it the wet suit was back on and in we went!
Was a pleasure to meet you guys and hope to see you at some point for a surf soon!

ha before you knew it, I seem to remember you laying the gauntlet down saying "if you get in, I will get in" that's all I needed, ha Great weekend, really good to have a chinwag Tom. If your ever saltburn way, I will give you a shout, think the uk open are going to Saltburn soon too.
