We've got ours in a pot and are going to try to save it for next year. But if I had an elephant I'd do this Berlin zoo's version of christmas tree recycling ;D
excellent, make sure its well watered, even if you're leaving it in the pot plant it in the pot, it will hold the moisture better. might even be worth transplanting it into a bigger pot to allow root growth. rooted trees tend to not have too much root on them and are a bit touch and go, but worth a try!
Going to take ours down soon as well. We've become very attached to it and it's going to leave a big space in our living room. We've talked about getting a fake one next year as real ones are so expensive, but I'll miss the smell (and I'm now wishing we'd spent even more and got a rooted one) But we love elephants thanks for the pictures xx
We bought this years from the farmers market from a local grower, it's pot grown and absolutely beautiful. Last year I took the christmas tree (again pot grown) into work and left it outside, it's done really well but had a growth spurt around September/October time so it had lots of pale green fluffy needles at the branch tips that looked a bit delicate to be brought inside and it looked weird for a Christmas tree. Maybe next year it'll be better. So Bob (the christmas tree) will be joining Frank (last years tree) in work on Monday
We've had our Boris in a pot for three years He will have to have a new home this year for christmas tho as he will be too big to go where we normally put him in another 12 months time.
Never bothered putting the tree up this year (or any decorations for that matter). Just never got in the xmas spirit at all.
My Bert was outed today. Our council have started charging for green waste so he'll go in the firepit when the time's right
Ours came down today & is outside waiting for next weeks green bin, living room looks huge now but can see the excess of toys that a certain 8 year old has Although doing a BBQ tomorrow so will need to move it to one side to cook ... eating inside, we're not completely mad!
ours is in the loft with the rest of the tat. humph. the house looks like an aircraft hanger. double humph.....
Mine's still in the garden in it's pot. Grown from a seed it's about 2ft high now, just right for a boat.
Our local Hospice collect them for a £4 donation. I always do that and give them a generous fiver and then I don't have to worry about charity until next year
The inside decorations and tree came down last week end.... Today the external lights were packed away.... Putting them back up in the loft brought on the annual onset of " if it hasn't moved since last year , we don't need it " trip to the tip... Two trips, but I feel cleansed )
